Sinecio Cuétara is an important Cuban artist whose work is deeply rooted in the tradition and complexity of Cuban art. His style combines expressive and geometric abstraction, incorporating influences from 19th century art, the 20th century avant-garde and the contemporary Cuban scene.
Cuétara completed his artistic training at the School of Fine Arts in Pinar del Río and studied Artistic Education at the Enrique José Varona Teacher Training College in Havana.
For him, art and worldview are inextricably linked. He understands beauty as a changeable concept that is always in the field of tension of cultural and social developments. His works tell of the history of Cuba as well as the challenges of the present.
His works are exhibited internationally and show the unbroken creative power of an artist who constantly reinterprets his cultural identity.
